Union benefits fund sues health insurer

The Massachusetts Laborers’ Health and Welfare Fund has sued Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts alleging that the insurer’s pricing led to overpayments to health care providers, Becker’s Hospital Review reported. The suit alleges violations of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act and that the insurer prioritized its relationships with providers.
