Cat bond, ILS market grows to $34 billion

The outstanding market size of catastrophe bonds and related insurance-linked securities hit a new high of $34.3 billion in the first quarter of this year, Artemis reported. The size has continued to grow as ceding companies increasingly view securitized access to the capital markets for reinsurance as an attractive option for transferring peak risks.
