Five commercial payers facing lawsuits

UnitedHealthcare, Inc., Aetna Inc., Humana Inc., Magellan Health, Inc., and American Guarantee and Liability Insurance Co. are the five commercial payers that are facing large lawsuits, Becker’s Hospital Review reports. UnitedHealthcare is being sued in Colorado and Texas by a large group of anesthesiologists for allegedly suppressing competition by forcing physicians out of its network and pushing hospitals to stop referring patients to them.
