U.S.-based Moody’s Investors Service, Inc. said that closer regulatory scrutiny of climate risk will push insurers and reinsurers to better evaluate, benchmark and manage climate-related threats, Reinsurance News reported. Moreover, it is also expected to support them in making difficult choices in response to climate risks, such as reducing exposure to certain profitable but carbon-intensive sectors, thus improving their overall risk management.
