Suez Canal blockage to drive reinsurance claims, increase rates

James Vickers, chairman of reinsurance broker Willis Re International, said that the recent Suez Canal blockage caused by Ever Given vessel will potentially lead to large reinsurance claims, Reuters reported. This could further increase the marine reinsurance rates.
