Mosaic snags former Willis reps and warranties leader

Bermuda start-up insurer Mosaic Insurance Holdings Ltd. has recruited former Willis Towers Watson PLC transactional risk leader William Monat.

Chicago-based Mr. Monat will be executive vice president, global head of mergers and acquisitions at Mosaic and focus on representations and warranties coverage, tax insurance and contingent liability insurance, Mosaic said in a statement Thursday.

Mosaic, which officially launched as a specialty insurer in February, has recruited several specialty insurance professionals over the past few months.

Last month, it launched a cyber liability insurance product line after recruiting staff from Zurich Insurance Ltd. and Axa XL, a unit of Axa SA.
