The Nuclear Regulation Authority of Japan has banned utility Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings Inc. from restarting the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear plant in Niigata Prefecture after the complex saw safety breaches including defective intruder detection systems, Japan Today reported citing Kyodo News. The punitive measure will remain until the firm fixes the issues.
