RenRe projects modest rate hikes for Japan

Analysts at U.S.-based Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC said that Bermudian reinsurer RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. predicts a modest hike in pricing for Japan at the upcoming April 1 renewals, Artemis reported. This cautious stance aligns with the market estimates of 5% to 10% rate increases across major Japanese carriers’ flood and wind exposed property catastrophe reinsurance programs.
