Miller hires Aon exec to lead Bermuda expansion

Miller Insurance Services LLP has named former Aon executive Charlie Simpson as head of a new Bermuda hub.

Mr. Simpson will focus on growing Miller’s presence in Bermuda by launching an independent offering, initially focused on reinsurance and insurance-linked securities, Miller said in a statement.

More key hires will be announced soon, the brokerage said.

Mr. Simpson joins from Aon where he most recently served as executive vice president of non-marine. He has more than 40 years’ industry experience, including senior roles at Guy Carpenter LLC and various other brokerages.

The move follows Miller’s acquisition last November by private equity firm Cinven and Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC.
