Utah expands telehealth services for mental health coverage

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox has signed a bill into law that expands coverage for mental healthcare services delivered by telehealth, mHealthIntelligence reports. Sponsored by State Sen. Luz Escamilla, the SB 41 requires commercial health plans and the state’s Medicaid program to reimburse providers at a commercially reasonable rate for telemental health services as long as they are provided in-person care.
