Liberty Specialty Markets announces exec changes

Liberty Specialty Markets, part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., said Wednesday it had named former XS Global Logistics ABN executive Manuel Moreno chief underwriting officer, U.S. and Latin America, and promoted Heath Merrill to chief operating officer, U.S. and Latin America.

Mr. Moreno is based in Miami and Mr. Merrill is based in Boston. Both report to Ronald Bolaños, president for the region.

Mr. Moreno fills the vacancy following Mr. Bolaños’ promotion to president, Liberty Specialty Markets, U.S. and Latin America. Mr. Moreno had been chief underwriting officer at XS Global.

Mr. Merrill succeeds Thais Kirchner, who is retiring in April, according to an email from a spokesman. Mr. Merrill had been financial officer, international on the Global Risk Solutions finance team.

Liberty Specialty Markets is part of Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Global Risk Solutions division.
