Berkshire hires AIG financial lines exec

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Co. said Tuesday it hired Anthony Tatulli, the former head of American International Group Inc.’s North American financial lines, as its head of executive professional lines for North America.

The Berkshire Hathaway Inc. unit said also that its Berkshire Hathaway Specialty unit has hired Rachel Simon, formerly with Great American Insurance Group, as senior vice president, head of U.S. commercial private and nonprofit, professional lines and transactional liability claims.

Berkshire Hathaway said in its statement that Mr. Tatulli, who is based in New York, has more than 30 years of industry experience spanning both underwriting and claims.

It said Ms. Simon, also based in New York, previously underwrote reps and warranties coverage for the Great American Insurance Group.

Last month, Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance named former AIG executive Andy Barberis to the newly created role of senior vice president, claims.
