Property Brothers

A Las Vegas couple’s adventure into the reality show “Property Brothers” in 2018 got a reality check with alleged shoddy work and code violations, according to a Monday report on KTNV.

The couple, Paul and Mindy King, and their new home, was featured on the HGTV show “Property Brothers,” starring Jonathan and Drew Scott, a real-estate-and-home-repair duo who have entertained dream-home enthusiasts for years.

The dream for the Kings went awry, they say, and they are now suing construction firm Villa Construction and production company Cineflix Inc. after construction issues ranging from simple cosmetic fixes, such incorrect backsplash designs and missized baseboards, to potential hazards, such as electrical wiring issues, according to the report.

Brother Jonathan Scott provided the following statement: “The Property Brothers… are not named defendants (in the) lawsuit… The Kings have rejected…reasonable attempts to remedy the remaining punch list items in the Kings’ home. Instead, in what appears to be an attempt to secure a substantial monetary settlement, the Kings have engaged in a negative publicity campaign against the Brothers. It is unfortunate that the Kings have resorted to such conduct.”
