UnitedHealthcare’s lawsuit over $100 million scheme moves forward

A lawsuit filed by UnitedHealthcare, Inc. accusing Next Health, LLC of operating a $100 million billing scheme will move forward after a judge denied some of the defendants’ motions to dismiss the claims, Becker’s Hospital Review reports citing court documents and Bloomberg Law. According to a lawsuit filed in 2017, the insurer had accused the Dallas, Texas-based laboratory network of giving kickbacks to physicians and other providers for overpriced and unnecessary drug and genetic tests.
