GM extends production cuts amid continued chips shortage

General Motors Co. has extended production cuts at its three North American plants and plans to idle its Brazilian factory amid the global semiconductor chips shortage, Reuters reported. GM will extend production cuts at its San Luis Potosi, Mexico-based plant until the end of March, and at its Ingersoll, Canada and Fairfax, U.S.-based plants through mid-April and will idle its Gravatai plant in Brazil in April and May.
