SK Telecom, subsidiary fined for unfair business practices

South Korea's Fair Trade Commission has fined telecommunications firm SK Telecom Co. Ltd. and its subsidiary SK Broadband Inc. 6.4 billion South Korean won ($5.7 million) for unfair business practices, Competition Policy International reported citing Yonhap. SK Telecom unfairly supported its subsidiary between 2016 and 2019, as SK Broadband utilized SK Telecom’s distribution channels to sell its IPTV service program and emerged as the second top player in the IPTV market.
