Berkshire snags AIG claims executive

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Co. has named former American International Group Inc. executive Andy Barberis to the newly created role of senior vice president, claims.

 

Mr. Barberis will head BHSI’s claims leadership team and work on catastrophic and complex casualty and health care claims.

 

He is based in New York and reports to Dave Crowe, chief global claims officer for BHSI, according to an email from a spokeswoman.

 

Mr. Barberis was most recently global claims officer for AIG.
