Japan grounds Boeing 777s after US engine failure incident

Japan’s transport ministry has ordered Japan Airlines Co. Ltd. and ANA Holdings Inc. to ground all Boeing Co. 777 planes after a Boeing 777 operated by United Airlines Inc. shed debris over Denver, U.S., after engine failure on Feb. 20, The Japan Times reported. Airlines have been ordered to ground all Boeing 777s equipped with Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines. JAL has 13 and ANA has 19 such planes.
