Government to privatize United India Insurance, GIC Re

The Indian government is reportedly mulling over the divestment of state-owned reinsurer General Insurance Corp. of India and insurer United India Insurance Co. Ltd., Asia Insurance Review reported citing Economic Times. The government think-tank Niti Aayog and the Ministry of Finance will jointly choose the general insurer to be privatized out of the four state-owned insurers.
