Chip maker halts production after large earthquake

Japanese semiconductor manufacturer Renesas Electronics Corp. suspended production at its Ibaraki, Japan-based factory after a 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck the country on Feb. 13, The Japan Times reported. The production halt comes amid a global shortage of semiconductors.
