Applied Underwriters Inc. said Tuesday it will repurpose Texas Insurance Co. to expand its excess and surplus capabilities to support the company’s trucking programs and other divisions.

In addition to expanding the E&S capabilities of Texas Insurance, which it acquired in 2015, the Omaha, Nebraska-based insurer said it has completed its acquisition of Oklahoma Property and Casualty Insurance Co. It said it has received all necessary regulatory approvals from the Oklahoma Insurance Department for its North American Casualty Co. unit’s acquisition of OP&C.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Applied Underwriters President Jamie Sahara said in a statement the insurer will strengthen OP&C to write admitted business in the south central region.

Applied Underwriters said earlier this month it had completed its acquisitions of Sarasota, Florida-based Centauri Specialty Insurance Co. and Centauri National Insurance Co.
