Large quake hits manufacturing, transport

A 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck the Japanese region of Tohoku on Feb. 13, disrupting operations at six gas- and coal-fired power plants and plunging more than 830,000 households in darkness, BloombergQuint reported citing NHK. Several companies suspended production at factories, while high-speed bullet and local train services remained suspended until Feb. 15 following damages to the electrical lines.
