Travelers Europe won’t underwrite Adani’s Carmichael mine

The Travelers Companies Inc.’s subsidiary Travelers Europe has refused to underwrite Adani Group's Carmichael coal mine and rail project in Queensland, Australia, Reuters reported. With this, the insurer joins a list of several insurers who have denied insurance coverage for the controversial coal mine project, which will initially produce 10 million tons of coal per year, with first production expected in 2021.
