Aon, Willis defend merger

Aon PLC and Willis Towers Watson PLC have defended their merger by citing alternative reinsurance capital, marketplaces and disintermediation as threats to their combined business, Artemis reported. The move comes after the New Zealand Commerce Commission revealed potential concerns that the reinsurance broking market will be constrained for choice if Aon buys all the shares of Willis.
