Old Mutual to finalize pandemic-related BI claims

South African insurer Old Mutual Ltd. is proceeding with the finalization of all outstanding, valid business interruption claims related to the COVID-19 lockdowns, Reinsurance News reported. The insurer expects an increase of up to 140 million South African rand ($9.3 million) in net business interruption and business rescue reserves for 2020 as compared to the ZAR464 million in net BI and business rescue claims reported in the first half ended June 30, 2020.
