Small weather events could drive insured cat losses

Analysts at U.K.-based investment banking firm Jefferies International Ltd. said that frequent smaller weather events in December 2020 could significantly impact the aggregate contracts, Artemis reported. Analysts estimate $1.4 billion in insured losses from catastrophe and severe weather events in December 2020, which is below the ten-year average of $1.9 billion for the month.
