Global catastrophe protection gap reaches 64%

A new report by Aon PLC shows that global catastrophe protection gap reached 64% in 2020 with $171 billion in uninsured losses related to natural catastrophe and severe weather events, Artemis reported. The report indicates that a significant number of impactful events were influenced by changing climate as 2020 had 416 severe weather and natural catastrophe events with estimated losses of $268 billion.
