3.6% of $1.5 billion Beirut Port blast claims paid to date

A report by Lebanon’s Insurance Control Commission shows that insurers have paid only 3.6% of the $1.5 billion in insured losses caused by the Beirut Port explosion as they await the results of investigations, Middle East Insurance Review reported citing Anadolu Agency. The explosion on Aug. 4, 2020, damaged about 20,000 commercial and 62,000 residential establishments.
