Willis may have to sell reinsurance arm to pursue Aon deal

A survey found that 73% of the insurance and reinsurance industry participants believe that Willis Towers Watson PLC will have to offload Willis Re Ltd. to pursue a merger with Aon PLC, Reinsurance News reported. The findings underscore a pre-existing speculation and follows the European Commission’s recent move to open an “in-depth investigation” into the merger due to competition concerns.
