Insurers face class action for BI claims denial

Australian law firm Clayton Utz and litigation funder Investor Claim Partner Pty Ltd. have launched a class action against insurers who have denied COVID-19 related business interruption insurance claims, Lawyers Weekly reported. The class action was launched on behalf of tens of thousands of businesses, including restaurants, gyms and retailers, who suffered losses due to pandemic-related lockdowns and have been denied their business interruption insurance payouts.
