RenRe expects $345 million in cat, pandemic losses

Bermuda-based reinsurer RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. expects $345 million in losses from natural catastrophes and COVID-19 pandemic in the fourth quarter of 2020, Artemis reported. Pandemic-related losses are expected to total $175 million, of which nearly $165 million is largely related to business interruption coverage under the property reinsurance segment, while weather-related catastrophe events are expected to cause a $170 million dent.
