Freak hailstorm causes over $70 million in damages

A freak hailstorm that hit Motueka town in New Zealand on Dec. 26, 2020 caused an estimated 100 million New Zealand ($71.7 million) in income loss and damage to fruit orchards, Stuff reported. Richard Clarkson, president of Motueka Fruit Growers Association, said that some farmers lost 100% of their plantations.
