Ecuador’s biggest union to strike against privatization

Ecuador’s largest labor union has threatened a national general strike on Jan. 28 to protest against President Lenin Moreno’s plans to privatize the country’s energy sector, Morning Star reported. Mesias Tatamuez, president of United Workers’ Front, warned that Mr. Moreno is trying to privatize oil, communications, energy and mining sectors before he steps down as president on May 24.
