RenRe’s third-party capital, ILS assets reach $6.9 billion

Bermuda-based reinsurer RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd.’s assets under joint venture, third-party reinsurance capital, and managed insurance-linked securities fund vehicles reached $6.9 billion as of October 2020, Artemis reported. These assets are nearing RenRe’s own capital base, which stood at $7.4 billion as of the end of September 2020, signaling the importance of third-party capital and ILS structures for the reinsurer.
