Freak snowstorm disrupts Madrid airport operations

Intense cold, wind, rain, and snow caused by Storm Filomena on Jan. 8 led to the suspension of operations at Adolfo Suarez Madrid–Barajas Airport in Spain and affected movement on roads, Euro Weekly reported. The General Directorate of Traffic said that the storm is affecting some 406 roads across the country, including 42 on the main network.
