Apple supplier accused of forced labor practices

A Tech Transparency Project report has accused Chinese firm Lens Technology Co. Ltd., which supplies to companies such as Apple Inc. and Amazon.com Inc., of forcefully employing Uighur workers at its factories, The Verge reported. Thousands of Uighurs from China’s predominantly Muslim region of Xinjiang are allegedly forced to work for Lens Technology as part of the Chinese government’s ongoing detention and forced labor campaign.
