VW loses ‘Dieselgate’ case in top court case; fines await

The European Union's top court has ruled that German automaker Volkswagen AG’s installation of defeat devices in the cars was a breach of the law, MoneyControl reported citing the Associated Press. According to the Court of Justice, the automaker could not justify the installation of devices was merely meant to protect the car engines. VW is facing $35 billion in fines and civil settlements for its ‘Dieselgate’ scandal.
