Earthquake, outage likely to disrupt chip supply

A 6.7-magnitude earthquake that struck off Taiwan’s northeastern coast on Dec. 10 disrupted operations of semiconductor manufacturers, Business Korea reported. The earthquake-caused production disruptions at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and Nanya Technology Corp., and a power outage at Micron Technology, Inc.’s Taiwan-based factory earlier in December are likely to affect chip supply chain.
