2020

A COVID-19/vaccine/social-distancing/health insurance survey of 1,000 U.S. adults has found one thing most can agree on: most would like to opt out of 2020.

Specifically, Mountain View, California-based healthinsurance.com found that 89% are looking forward to New Year’s Eve and saying goodbye to 2020, according to the results of the online survey conducted earlier this month and released Monday.

Putting a spotlight on consumer health care behavior, the survey found mixed results in other categories: 20% increased their health insurance coverage due to COVID-19; 35% are afraid of contracting COVID-19 due to cost of treatment; 48% say COVID-19 has caused tension in their family; and 56% will still worry about COVID-19 even after a vaccine comes to market.

And while many agreed that 2020 has to go, the highest number of respondents — 93% — think the vaccine should be free for all.
