Employers see lowest healthcare cost hikes in 20 years

A Mercer L.L.C survey has found that large U.S. employers have seen an average 1.9% hike in their healthcare costs due to COVID-19 pandemic, The Washington Post reported. According to Beth Umland, the director of health and benefits research at Mercer, this is the lowest cost increase since 1997 and will help many employers avoid raising deductibles or taking other steps to shift costs to workers in 2021.
