To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.
To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Wednesday it is introducing EEOC Explore, an interactive data query and mapping tool.
The agency said in its statement EEOC Explore gives users access to the most current, granular and privacy-protected aggregate EEO-1 data publicly available.
The annual EEO-1 report, which is collected annually from private employers with at least 100 employees and federal contractors with at least 50 workers, provides a demographic breakdown of workforces by race and gender.
The EEOC said EEOC Explore allows users to analyze aggregate data associated with more than 56 million employees and 73,000 employers nationwide.
It said it enables stakeholders to explore and compare data trends across categories including location, sex, race and ethnicity, and industry sector, without the need for experience in computer programming or statistical analysis.
It also allows users to dive down to county-level details, surpassing the previously available data available on the EEOC’s public website, the statement said.
EEOC Chair Janet Dhillon said the tool will make it easier to navigate the agency’s aggregate EEO-1 data “for everyone interested in advancing equal opportunity for all in the workplace.”
It was developed in collaboration with the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago.
