Insurers in talks to extend credit insurance backstop

The German government and insurers are discussing a six-month extension of the COVID-19 credit insurance backstop, Asia Insurance Review reported citing Reuters. Earlier this year, the German government agreed to guarantee up to €30 billion ($35.6 billion) for the commercial credit insurance industry for 2020 to facilitate smooth flow of trade amid the pandemic.
