Santam loses business interruption claims lawsuit

The Western Cape High Court of South Africa has ordered insurer Santam Ltd. to pay for the COVID-19 lockdown-related business interruption losses to a restaurant and hotel chain respectively, Big News Network reported citing News24. Earlier, Stellenbosch Kitchen and Ma-Afrika Hotels (Pty) Ltd. joined forces with public loss adjustment company Insurance Claims Africa, which is representing over 750 hospitality and tourism businesses in their battle to get pandemic-related business interruptions claims paid.
