Insurer Houston International changes name to Skyward

Houston International Insurance Group said Tuesday it has changed its name to Skyward Specialty Insurance Group.

The insurer’s chief executive officer, Andrew Robinson, said in a statement the new name “more clearly describes who we are today, better reflects our strategy and conveys the company’s promise to our clients and distribution partners.”

The company said in its statement that in addition to raising $100 million in new capital earlier this year, it has recently announced a new excess and surplus wholesale brokerage market unit, expanded its private company directors and officers liability business and introduced an excess public D&O capability, and expanded its large commercial property business.

Mr. Robinson was named Houston International CEO in May.
