Alliant hires former Marsh exec for specialty claims and legal role

Alliant Insurance Services Inc. has named former Marsh executive Steve Shappell as executive vice president, specialty claims and legal, the Newport Beach, California-based broker said in a statement Monday.

Mr. Shappell will provide client advocacy and claims resolution options to Alliant clients in the U.S., the statement said.  

In this newly created position, Mr. Shappell will be based in Denver and report to Sandy Crystal, executive vice president and managing director, according to an email from a company spokeswoman.

Prior to joining Alliant, Mr. Shappell was chief claims officer and legal advisory leader at Marsh JLT Specialty, U.S. and Canada.
