Gallagher buys California wholesaler

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has bought San Diego-based Arrowhead Wholesale Insurance Services LLC, the brokerage announced Wednesday.

Terms were not disclosed.

AWIS, which has about a dozen staff, will be folded into Risk Placement Services Inc., Gallagher’s wholesale brokerage unit.

AWIS, which is headed by Mike Kuhn, places a range of commercial coverages including property/casualty, construction general liability, professional liability and workers compensation.
