Aspen Re taps former Axis Re exec for casualty role

Aspen Re, the reinsurance unit of Bermuda insurer Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd., has named former Axis Re executive Jim Brown head of casualty for Aspen Re America.

Mr. Brown, who was most recently head of general liability at Axis Re, will lead the development of Aspen Re’s U.S. casualty business, Aspen said in a statement Monday. He will be based in Aspen’s New York and Rocky Hill, Connecticut, offices.

Mr. Brown is filling an open role at Aspen Re, according to an email from an Aspen spokesman.
