Gallagher staggering systems restoration after cyberattack

Weathering a cybersecurity breach that occurred Saturday, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. on Wednesday reported “significant progress” in restoring its full capabilities, including phone, fax and conferencing capabilities to receive new claims.

Gallagher, whose clients lost access to many system features as a result of the event, anticipates having its e-mail systems restored globally by mid-day Thursday, according to a statement.

Some features on Luminos, claims management unit Gallagher Bassett Services Inc.’s claims reporting program, are also up and running, the statement said.

However, Gallagher Bassett reports a number of functions remain unavailable, including report scheduling and e-mail distribution of reports, claim document images, claim alerts and Luminos’ interactive features.
