Everest appoints underwriting execs

Everest Re Group Ltd. has named three executives to new underwriting leadership positions at Everest Insurance Co., Everest said in a statement Wednesday.

 

Mike Harnett, deputy chief underwriting officer, has been named chief underwriting officer for Everest Insurance in North America, the statement said. He will remain based in the company’s Philadelphia office and report to Everest Insurance Chief Operating Officer Mike Mulray, the statement said.

 

Erik Nikodem, lead, U.S. property division, has been named global head of property. He will remain based in the company’s Boston office and continue to report to Everest Insurance president & CEO Mike Karmilowicz.

 

Neil Lightbown is joining the organization as chief underwriting officer, Everest Global Markets, effective Oct. 1. He will be based in the company’s London office and report to Mr. Mulray and to Vincent Vandendael, CEO of Everest Global Markets. Mr. Lightbown joins Everest from Allied World Assurance, where he was most recently global markets chief underwriting officer, the statement said.

 

Mr. Karmilowicz and Mr. Mulray were named to their roles in July in the wake of the departure of Jonathan M. Zaffino, who left the insurer earlier this year to join Ascot Group.
