Insurers are solvent to pay pandemic claims: Regulator

Ibrahim Obaid Al-Zaabi, director general of the U.A.E. Insurance Authority, said that the country's insurers have sufficient capital to pay current and potential COVID-19-related claims, Middle East Insurance Review reports citing Emirates Today. Local insurers have paid 134 million United Arab Emirates dirham ($36.5 million) in COVID-19 claims until the end of July, Mr. Al-Zaabi said.
